You may have noticed a few months back I created my organic tea Tub Teas. I have recently added some new Tub Teas to the range which are available individually, in a set of 3 or in a Tub Tea sampler pack featuring all 5 varieties. Each little packet of Tub Tea contains a lovely blend of organic tea, muscle soothing epsom salts, essential oils to match the tea and zeolite clay to detox the body. There is a Tub Tea to suit everyone - whether you just want to unwind and relax, or you're in need of a soothing detox bathing experience or just want to feel like Cleopatra in a milky rose bath. Tub Tea is the perfect way to relax after a long day. I have created a range of hand blended organic teas which are perfect for sipping on while you're enjoying your soothing Tub Tea experience.
Here's a little bit of info on each so you can decipher which one tickles your fancy!
'Cleopatra' - a lovely organic blend of Jasmine tea and rose petals with rose geranium essential oil - this lovely rose Tub Tea includes rose petal powder - fantastic for softening the skin. You'll feel relaxed and your skin will feel amazingly soft and nourished. Our matching Cleopatra organic tea is also available to complete you rose bath experience. Help your skin from the inside out with this beautiful rose petal combo.
'Vanilla Chai Latte Tub Tea ' - a spicy blend of organic chai along with vanilla essential oil, epsom salts, oatmeal and zeolite clay. Our Chai Organic blend is also available - why not make yourself a real chai latte and indulge your senses in the spicy aroma of chai. This lovely combination will whisk you away to wonderful spice markets in far away lands.
'Calm Me Chamomile' - Organic chamomile flowers with Roman chamomile essential oil, epsom salts, oatmeal and zeolite clay. The perfect way to unwind. Our Chamomile flower organic tea is also available so you can sip on a cup to complete your calming bathing experience.
'Invigorate Me' which is my hand blended earl grey organic tea with rose petals and cornflowers - it's so pretty and is lovely to pop in the bath for an invigorating home spa pampering. This invigorating tub tea features essential oils of pink grapefruit & bergamot, epsom salts, oatmeal and zeolite clay. Lovely when paired with our Invigorate Me Organic drinking tea.
'Flora' This all natural Flora Tub Tea is named after the Roman Flower Goddess of the same name. A Colourful and aromatic blend of organic rose petals, chamomile, calendula petals, Heather flowers, lavender and white peony tea make for a visually appealing bath time. Epsom salts, oatmeal, zeolite clay and rose geranium & lavender essential oils make this Tub Tea a luxurious floral bath time experience.
All of my Tub Teas come packaged individually with the organic tea in a little organza bag so the tub doesn't get messy. Give the bag a little squeeze every now and then to release the teas healing properties. Once the tea has softened in the organza bag you can use it to brush your body. The bag acts as an exfoliant and the tea properties can then be absorbed into the skin.
All of my Tub Teas are available to purchase in my online store as individual packs or in a pack of 3 and also in a sampler pack which features all 5 Tub Teas. If you would like to enjoy a cup of our organic tea along with your Tub Tea I have also put together a gift sets which includes a Tub Tea, Organic drinking tea and a beauty mask.
The Linny Loves... shop is growing, and we have just recently welcomed a new family member - Peony N Pearl! Fionna is the brainchild behind Peony N Pearl, she is a super talented lady with skills from handmade wire jewellery to amazing florals. This multi-talented creative is a good friend of mine that I met a few years back during some creative ventures, and I am sure glad I did meet her! Along the way, Fionna and I have worked together on a few photoshoots and actually worked together on our own projects from her home. It's been so wonderful for me to have met such an amazing friend and creative talent. Sounding ideas off each other rather than talking to ourselves (any creative who works from home knows how isolating it can be working solo, and the chatter between me, myself and I can become a little too real).
So now that you have a little bit of background, here is some of Fionna's amazing work. Although I am not selling her florals on the website, I must show you some of the artistic florals she has created, afterall, she is a very talented florist/floral stylist too! But first, here is a bit of what you'll find in the Linny Loves... shop
Each one of Fionna's wire work pieces are so intricately made, you have to look closely at the amazing detail! Each piece is made from scratch - she creates the base frame of her work from strong bendable wire, then coils yet more wire around the wire frame she has created. Each piece is first sketched out and then measurements are made to precisely create the intricate work detailed above. Fionna uses quality components including gemstones and Swarovkski crystals to create these unique wearable pieces of art.
Her jewellery is unique, intricate and truly handmade - I have personally seen the hours that go into making such beautiful work - certainly a skill to be admired, I hope to get some lessons one day, as I can only imagine the headpieces I would come up with having such a skill in my arsenal!
These silk flower crowns and hair pins are a more recent addition to Fionna's gorgeous work. As sometimes working with fresh flowers and their lack of permanence can be difficult, Fionna ventured into making silk flower crowns and hair accessories. Flower crowns have been so popular for weddings and they're sure to stay on-trend for quite some time and with pretties such as these, how could they go out of fashion!
Here is just a couple of examples of Fionna's floral work with fresh flowers. I particularly fell in love with the Peony N Pearl display she made for RAW. I want one! It also has some cute air plants hanging from the branches. Now, lets not forget about that dress! This dress and others from The Rock Stars & Royalty collection were showcased at Fash Fest this year and what an impact they made! The dresses used a combination of real and silk flowers and now have been immortilsed with silk and real touch flowers. Just beautiful! Fionna is available for weddings and events for floral styling and she also does custom jewellery if you are looking for something extra special. Head to her website for more details.
Linny Loves... shop has officially landed! I am very excited to launch my hand selected handmade and Independently designed awesome items from various talented people in Aus and across the globe! These hand picked goodies have all been carefully curated into my Linny Loves... Shop. Linny Loves... is a celebration of handmade and independent designers reigning from all parts of the globe. I am so excited to share these wonderful items with my customers an hope that you love these hand selected items as much as I do.
Quite a few designers have already joined the Linny Loves... family and there are certainly more to follow! Peony N Pearl was the first to hit the Linny Loves... Shop and now Barkly Belle and Belle Ame.
Peony N Pearl handcrafts some beautiful jewellery using semi-precious stones - her techniques are intricate and made from scratch - Fionna's work is truly handmade and that's why I love it so much! Her skills come from many years of hand coiling wire to create these wonderful designs.
How beautiful are these gemstone soaps! So pretty and with fragrances to match their beauty! Belle Ame's gorgeous gemstone soaps come in 4 different scents - Japanese Cherry Blossom, Southern Peach & Rose, Crisp Apple & Rose and Lavender Fields. Great little gifts for any occasion! Christmas is coming up too, these would work wonderfully for stocking stuffers.
Many more amazing handmade items to be added over the coming weeks! So watch this space - more amazingness to come! Until next time.
For a long time now I have had a strong love for tea and organic produce. A few years back I was studying Nutrition and some of my units included Herbal Medicine (the units I enjoyed most in this course) but wondered where I would go once I had completed my studies. Eventually I realised I couldn't see myself starting or working in a practice and I ceased my studies in Nutrition. I felt like I had wasted a lot of time and money once I came to this realisation.
Years later Peacock & Lotus was born and now my label is growing and changing with the addition of my wonderful organic tea blends! In retrospect I can see how my actions have led me to where Peacock & Lotus is now and how some of the small steps which I felt were mistakes, actually led me on a path to what I truly wanted. My love of all things natural has led me to follow a new path and an interesting turn of events for my label Peacock & Lotus.
The addition of organic teas to the Peacock & Lotus family has been a source of joy and it's a big bonus that I get to have fun experimenting with blends and then taking some time out to sip on a lovely cup of organic tea! I love to unwind at the end of the day with a nice cup of tea and a nice hot bath - it's the ultimate way to relax and take a load off. I absolutely love earl grey tea, so I knew I had to create a new and exciting blend with rose petals and cornflowers. Visually it is so pretty - the colours are vibrant and the tea tastes pretty darn good if I say so myself! I love this blend at the beginning of the day and then to settle in and relax before bed, I love to sip on a cup of organic green tea with lavender and calendula. This blend has a slight honeyed taste to it, taking the edge off the bitterness that green tea can sometimes leave on the palate.
I have packaged these lovely tea blends in 20g and 80g packs so if you want to try a variety of teas you can purchase the 20g and if it's to your liking, the 80g packs are also available for purchase. These little packets make for wonderful gifts and I also have them available in a 3 pack gift set. I love blending these teas so much I created another product called tub tea. Using some of my tea blends with added essential oils and epsom salts, these little bath time beauties are fabulous to pop in the tub whilst sipping on one of our organic tea blends! Currently I have a lovely blend of pink grapefruit & bergamot tub tea named 'Invigorate Me', which uses a herbal brew (my earl grey blend). The organza bag which encases the tub tea can also be used to brush the body helping to exfoliate the skin with all natural ingredients. New varieties of this product are coming soon, check here to view our current Tub Teas. More on my Tub Teas in my next post.
Gold and Rose Gold have been rather popular over the last year and this trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. As well as these tones, raw brass is also appearing to be a huge trend in bridal accessories. I Have been working with brass for a number of years now, but raw brass seems to be particularly popular at the moment. I love raw brass, so I decided to create a bridal/event collection using raw brass and gold tones with the addition of crystals, freshwater pearls and gemstones. These adornments work wonderfully for a whimsical look and the wonderful thing about these kind of adornments is that they are timeless. You won't look back at your wedding photos and think 'what was I thinking'!
A touch of gold in a bride's accessories can add just the right mount of warmth to your bridal look. Gold works well with ivory, white and champagne, not to mention blush pink! You may have noticed a lot of gold tones & brass in bridal accessories and I have to say I absolutely adore this look and love working with these tones! In my current 'Royalty' collection you will see a lot of brass stamping components in the shapes of leaves, branches and flowers. I particularly love creating crowns from these components - they are just so beautiful, timeless and elegant. I have also found a lot of my clients have purchased these headpieces and crowns for special events - such as the races - so you don't have to be a bride to adorn yourself with these gorgeous pieces. Wearing a leaf or flower hair comb at the back of an up-do is particularly popular and as some of these pieces can be quite understated - you can wear them again for different occasions.
All of the pieces in my new 'Royalty' collection can be customised to make them more you - if you like one of the headpieces but want pearls replaced with rhinestones or crystal beads it's entirely possible. If you would like a custom-made headpiece for your wedding or event the possibilities are endless. I am always happy to discuss your requirements - so why not get in touch and see what's possible.
Recently I worked with a wonderful team to create a series of beautifully whimsical images. I was asked to create a large flower crown and only had a couple of days so it was lucky I had some gorgeous silk peonies in purple and pink on hand! The flower crown was hand-wired with silk babies breath, purple berries and of course the gorgeous silk peonies in purple and pink. Makeup artist Jolina matched the purple peonies with a stunning lip colour and flawless eye makeup.
Every once in a while I like to take part in a creative photoshoot and work with the wonderful creative talent that Canberra has to offer, and it's always a bonus if we get published! It also gives me an opportunity to creative something a little bit different from what my current collections exhibit, which keeps things interesting! Meeting new creatives is always fun too. What can I say! My job is pretty awesome!
The wonderful team involved in this shoot definitely made this shoot a success and as a result was published in Whim Online Magazine - and on the front cover to boot!

I have always loved an Old Hollywood look - it's so elegant and timeless, so I decided to create a collection showcasing some bling and this time I wanted to add some jewellery pieces to match my headpieces. Quite often I give the advice that if you are wearing a headpiece for your wedding you should limit your additional accessories but with an Old Hollywood look, it's difficult to go wrong with a headpiece, matching cuff bracelet and necklace! Less isn't always more.
I truly love this old world feel - the collection has a lot of crystals and pearls, but have been put together in a way that the headpieces and jewellery aren't too blingy and are slightly subdued to not appear too sparkly. This collection can also be worn for special occasions - I find the necklaces and cuff bracelets are fantastic for adding a bit of sparkle to a cocktail dress. All the components for these pieces have been painstakingly hand-sewn (actually it's quite relaxing) to create these beautifully heavily beaded pieces.
We had a lot of fun on this shoot and it is one of my favourites to date. I had a wonderful team in creating my 1930's Old Hollywood look which is also modern enough to be worn with outfits don't quite fit the Old Hollywood theme. These pieces are fantastic for when you want to feel glamorous with minimal effort - just pair one of these pieces with a little black dress and you're all set!

This year I will be taking Peacock & Lotus to the next level, many changes are taking place and I can't wait to share them with the world. Peacock & Lotus has always had a strong focus on nature, but in 2015 this focus will truly come to light in many new and exciting ways! I am aware I am being a little vague, but soon enough these changes will be there for the world to see. It's in the works!
What I can share with you now is that I am in the midst of creating my new bath and body range which is an all natural botanical range of products using essential oils. Natural products have always been a passion of mine for a long long time and being an earth sign, this is no surprise. A few years back I was studying Naturopathy and then Nutrition trying to work out my path and somehow I found myself creating headpieces - I started to realise that my passions lied in handmade items with a focus on nature. Now I am taking what I learned from my Herbal Medicine units to create this new range of all natural bath & body products. This year will see me back in the study game, gaining all the knowledge that I can on Herbalism and Aromatherapy. Back in the day some of my work colleagues used to call me 'The Witch Doctor' a term of endearment perhaps? The reason I didn't complete my studies all those years ago, was that I couldn't see myself seeing clients day in and day out, but now I can see that my interest in Herbal medicine and Aromatherapy are still there, but now my path has changed. My passion is back, and I am keen to share my new products with all of you!
My passion for handmade hair adornments and accessories is certainly still alive and well and I am certainly not moving away from creating beautiful adornments. Handmade is part of me and always will be, I am merely expanding my horizons and conquering one passion at a time. What can be better than combining all of your passions into one place that you can truly say is 'you'! If we are not moving, growing and changing we're just standing still. This life is here to be lived and I am truly going to make the most of it, doing what I love. I hope that everyone else out there is living that life and being their true self, life is just that more enjoyable when you do. Until next time - Do What YOU Love :)
See you later 2014 and hello to my new friend 2015. 2014 saw a lot of changes for Peacock & Lotus. Firstly Peacock and Lotus took a new focus on all things bridal, creating two gorgeous new vintage inspired collections and with that came many a photo shoot! And what fun they were. These photo shoots turned out some pretty amazing images from amazing photographers that I had the pleasure of working with. Many I hope to collaborate with again in 2015. I am so thankful to have worked with so many amazingly talented people last year and I can't wait to see what we all can come up with this year! Thank you to you all and I wish you all the best for 2015.
Below is a recap of 2014, what a year! 2015 I can't wait to create many new creations (including my new bath & body collection) YES it IS on its way very soon!!!
