For a long time now I have had a strong love for tea and organic produce. A few years back I was studying Nutrition and some of my units included Herbal Medicine (the units I enjoyed most in this course) but wondered where I would go once I had completed my studies. Eventually I realised I couldn't see myself starting or working in a practice and I ceased my studies in Nutrition. I felt like I had wasted a lot of time and money once I came to this realisation.
Years later Peacock & Lotus was born and now my label is growing and changing with the addition of my wonderful organic tea blends! In retrospect I can see how my actions have led me to where Peacock & Lotus is now and how some of the small steps which I felt were mistakes, actually led me on a path to what I truly wanted. My love of all things natural has led me to follow a new path and an interesting turn of events for my label Peacock & Lotus.
The addition of organic teas to the Peacock & Lotus family has been a source of joy and it's a big bonus that I get to have fun experimenting with blends and then taking some time out to sip on a lovely cup of organic tea! I love to unwind at the end of the day with a nice cup of tea and a nice hot bath - it's the ultimate way to relax and take a load off. I absolutely love earl grey tea, so I knew I had to create a new and exciting blend with rose petals and cornflowers. Visually it is so pretty - the colours are vibrant and the tea tastes pretty darn good if I say so myself! I love this blend at the beginning of the day and then to settle in and relax before bed, I love to sip on a cup of organic green tea with lavender and calendula. This blend has a slight honeyed taste to it, taking the edge off the bitterness that green tea can sometimes leave on the palate.
I have packaged these lovely tea blends in 20g and 80g packs so if you want to try a variety of teas you can purchase the 20g and if it's to your liking, the 80g packs are also available for purchase. These little packets make for wonderful gifts and I also have them available in a 3 pack gift set. I love blending these teas so much I created another product called tub tea. Using some of my tea blends with added essential oils and epsom salts, these little bath time beauties are fabulous to pop in the tub whilst sipping on one of our organic tea blends! Currently I have a lovely blend of pink grapefruit & bergamot tub tea named 'Invigorate Me', which uses a herbal brew (my earl grey blend). The organza bag which encases the tub tea can also be used to brush the body helping to exfoliate the skin with all natural ingredients. New varieties of this product are coming soon, check here to view our current Tub Teas. More on my Tub Teas in my next post.
Gold and Rose Gold have been rather popular over the last year and this trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. As well as these tones, raw brass is also appearing to be a huge trend in bridal accessories. I Have been working with brass for a number of years now, but raw brass seems to be particularly popular at the moment. I love raw brass, so I decided to create a bridal/event collection using raw brass and gold tones with the addition of crystals, freshwater pearls and gemstones. These adornments work wonderfully for a whimsical look and the wonderful thing about these kind of adornments is that they are timeless. You won't look back at your wedding photos and think 'what was I thinking'!
A touch of gold in a bride's accessories can add just the right mount of warmth to your bridal look. Gold works well with ivory, white and champagne, not to mention blush pink! You may have noticed a lot of gold tones & brass in bridal accessories and I have to say I absolutely adore this look and love working with these tones! In my current 'Royalty' collection you will see a lot of brass stamping components in the shapes of leaves, branches and flowers. I particularly love creating crowns from these components - they are just so beautiful, timeless and elegant. I have also found a lot of my clients have purchased these headpieces and crowns for special events - such as the races - so you don't have to be a bride to adorn yourself with these gorgeous pieces. Wearing a leaf or flower hair comb at the back of an up-do is particularly popular and as some of these pieces can be quite understated - you can wear them again for different occasions.
All of the pieces in my new 'Royalty' collection can be customised to make them more you - if you like one of the headpieces but want pearls replaced with rhinestones or crystal beads it's entirely possible. If you would like a custom-made headpiece for your wedding or event the possibilities are endless. I am always happy to discuss your requirements - so why not get in touch and see what's possible.
